Connect WordPress signups to Mailchimp.

Use WPOS to connect WordPress and Mailchimp, manage audiences, prepare campaigns and configure subscriber workflows with the right account permissions.

The workflow

Connect WordPress signups to Mailchimp

A signup on your site is only useful when it reaches the audience you intended. WPOS can work with Mailchimp audiences, campaigns and automations alongside WordPress, so you can describe the form, the audience and the next step in one place.

How it works

From connection to a checked result

  1. 01

    Prepare your account

A Mailchimp account with at least one audience. Without one there is nothing to add subscribers to. Admin or Manager role. Viewer and Author roles cannot modify audiences or send campaigns. Your server prefix, the region code in your Mailchimp URL, for example us19.

  2. 02

    Connect Mailchimp

Open Mailchimp in Settings → Connectors. Enter the server prefix from your Mailchimp account URL, such as us19, then complete Mailchimp sign-in and authorization. Confirm that WPOS can see the intended audience.

  3. 03

    Describe the WordPress workflow

Use this WordPress signup form with our newsletter audience. Show the field mapping and preserve the audience’s opt-in settings.

  4. 04

    Verify the result

Submit a test signup and inspect its audience and subscription status in Mailchimp. A pending subscriber may be waiting for double opt-in confirmation.

Use WPOS to connect WordPress and Mailchimp, manage audiences, prepare campaigns and configure subscriber workflows with the right account permissions.

Open Mailchimp in Settings → Connectors. Enter the server prefix from your Mailchimp account URL, such as us19, then complete Mailchimp sign-in and authorization. Confirm that WPOS can see the intended audience.

A Mailchimp connection does not start sending campaigns or process every signup by itself. Configure the form handoff, audience, opt-in behavior and automation separately.

The server prefix is wrong. Log in to Mailchimp and copy the region code from the address bar, then disconnect and reconnect with the correct value.

Create one in Mailchimp first, under Audience, then Create Audience.

The audience uses double opt-in, so Mailchimp sends a confirmation and waits. This is correct behaviour, not a fault.
