Use Google Analytics data to improve your WordPress site.

Connect Google Analytics 4 to WPOS. Review traffic, audiences and reports with clear property and date-range context before updating WordPress pages.

The workflow

Use Google Analytics data to improve your WordPress site

The traffic report and the page it describes usually live in different places. WPOS can read Google Analytics property data and reports while you work on WordPress, helping you connect a question about performance to a concrete page review.

How it works

From connection to a checked result

  1. 01

    Prepare your account

A Google Analytics 4 property that already has data. Universal Analytics properties are shut down and will not work. At least Viewer access on the property. If you cannot open it at analytics.google.com, WPOS cannot read it either. Popups allowed for your WordPress admin domain.

  2. 02

    Connect Google Analytics

Select Google Analytics in Settings → Connectors and sign in with the Google account that can access the GA4 property. Review the requested permissions and complete authorization, then identify the property to use.

  3. 03

    Describe the WordPress workflow

Review traffic for this GA4 property for the last complete month. Use the property timezone and identify pages worth reviewing on our WordPress site.

  4. 04

    Verify the result

Compare the result with the same property, dates and timezone in the Google Analytics dashboard. State the reporting range explicitly when comparing periods.

Connect Google Analytics 4 to WPOS. Review traffic, audiences and reports with clear property and date-range context before updating WordPress pages.

Select Google Analytics in Settings → Connectors and sign in with the Google account that can access the GA4 property. Review the requested permissions and complete authorization, then identify the property to use.

The connector reads the data available in your GA4 property. Connecting it does not by itself install tracking or recover visits that were never collected. Universal Analytics properties are not supported by this workflow.

The permission checkboxes during authorization were left unticked. Disconnect, reconnect, and tick Select all.

The account has no GA4 property, or only Universal Analytics properties. Confirm a GA4 property exists at analytics.google.com.

Almost always a date range or timezone difference. GA reports in the property timezone, so state the range explicitly in your prompt.
