Bring search performance into your WordPress workflow.

Connect Google Search Console to WPOS. Review queries, clicks, impressions and URL indexing for a verified property alongside your WordPress pages.

The workflow

Bring search performance into your WordPress workflow

A search report becomes more useful when you can act on the page behind it. WPOS can read Search Console performance and URL indexing information, then help you review the corresponding WordPress content with the property and reporting period kept in view.

How it works

From connection to a checked result

  1. 01

    Prepare your account

A verified property in Search Console. Unverified sites return no data. Full or Restricted user access on the property. Restricted users cannot submit URLs for indexing. Know whether yours is a domain property (covers every subdomain) or a URL prefix property (exact match only). They report different data.

  2. 02

    Connect Google Search Console

Select Google Search Console in Settings → Connectors. Authorize the Google account with access to the verified property, then specify its exact domain-property or URL-prefix identifier.

  3. 03

    Describe the WordPress workflow

Review queries and pages for this Search Console property over the last complete month. Show the pages with impressions but weak click-through rates before proposing edits.

  4. 04

    Verify the result

Compare clicks, impressions and average position against the same property and date range in Search Console. For an indexing question, inspect the exact canonical URL you mean.

Connect Google Search Console to WPOS. Review queries, clicks, impressions and URL indexing for a verified property alongside your WordPress pages.

Select Google Search Console in Settings → Connectors. Authorize the Google account with access to the verified property, then specify its exact domain-property or URL-prefix identifier.

Search Console data can lag behind the present day, and a domain property combines subdomains and protocols. A report or an indexing check does not guarantee a page will be indexed or rank.

On a first authorization the permission checkboxes were left unticked. Disconnect, reconnect, and tick Select all.

Search Console lags by two to three days. This is Google behaviour, not a WPOS problem. Ask for ranges ending a few days back.

Domain properties aggregate every subdomain and both protocols. For one hostname only, use the matching URL prefix property.
